A blog post from Stefanie Schwimmbeck’s first residency at The Workroom in Glasgow, Scotland.
During the second week of residency in Glasgow, I noticed relatively quickly how often the word “community” is used in the most diverse forms and thus appears much more frequently in the cityscape than I am used to in German-speaking countries. It was very interesting to see how variously communities were spoken of and I started to take pictures of them.
In dance, “community dance” is a fixed term for me and describes work with non-professional dancers…. Collecting the images has expanded my awareness of the concept of communities. Below is a selection of the images.
