Following their CROWD residencies in 2021, the Goethe-Institut successfully nominated the original CROWD dance artists to attend this year’s Tanzkongress – Sharing Potentials in Mainz, an event by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation), in cooperation with the Staatstheater Mainz, supported by the Goethe-Institut.
We’re delighted that five of our six original CROWD artists, Pontus Linder, Hannah Sampé, Agnetha Jaunich, Emma Lewis-Jones and Victor Fung have been able to come together once again to continue their exploration of community-engaged dance practice, exchange insight and ideas with fellow artists from around the world and develop their networks. We’ll be inviting them to share their experience with the CROWD 2022 artists as part of this year’s digital programme.
About Tanzkongress 2022
At a time when cultural systems are becoming increasingly interconnected, Sharing Potentials is the order of the day and the guiding concept that will transform Tanzkongress 2022 – Sharing Potentials into a site of exchange for the dance scene.
The main topics will focus on the professional reality of dancers, the strengthening of diverse approaches to dialogue and cooperation, and the newly built bridges between repertory theatres and the independent scene. Dancers, choreographers, company and theatre directors, producers, and other dance professionals are invited to share their perspectives.
